Royal LePage launched www.royallepagetv.ca, a web portal of instructional/educational videos for real estate consumers to watch and learn more about the buying/selling process. From my initial look, the site looks great. It is great to see a Canadian real estate company stepping up and investing to become Web 2.0 friendly in this ever changing business.
One big complaint is that they did not make the videos embeddable. Lately widgets have become all the rage. An embeddable widget would allow users to spread a message. Why not let anyone embed the videos on their website or blog. They have Royal LePage branding so all it could possibly do is help spread the message about the company and get ten times more exposure.
I’m sure the team over at Royal LePage has heard of www.YouTube.com or maybe even www.wellcomemat.com. Both services have embeddable features for their video platform.
Maybe they allow Royal LePage agents to embed videos with a username and password……. I hope that it is something that is in the pipeline and that they will be releasing shortly. The power of the internet is immense if you embrace it.

Business in Vancouver reporter Curt Cherewayko wrote an article this week that covers the new MyRealPlace.com as well as TellTenFriends.com. The article is an interesting look at Canada “following the lead of its U.S. counterpart” when it comes to social networking websites.
Curt mentions that Ubertor is “leveraging the opportunities that come with being early adopters of Real Estate 2.0″

I wrote a quick post the other day about the new look that Jacob Krause’s website has. He send me an email and I wanted to post his comments here:
“The CSS Unlock feature is the most amazing thing Ubertor could do for us at the Jacob Krause Team. I’ve already had a ton of clients call & email to say our site looks amazing! We wanted to go beyond the standard look and feel of the templates provided and make our custom modifications. Having this feature allowed us to brand our website without any limitations. Stephen Jagger, thanks for changing our world.
Special thanks to Kunidesigns.com for the amazing graphic designs. View our site at www.JacobKrause.com.
Thanks again Jacob for your kind words. It is great to see you taking advantage of all of the features our Ubertor software platform has to provide.
I came across a few stunning websites today that are running on the Ubertor software. These 2 websites have been manipulated by a CSS programmer and are great examples of what can be done by ANY programmer with CSS skills. It is amazing what can be done to the Ubertor software. There are no limits to how a site can be adjusted. Here are the 2 sites:
Jeff Fitzpatrick, RE/MAX and Jacob Krause, TRG Realty
Jordan discusses MyRealPlace.com, Zillow, Facebook, ActiveRain on RealtyTV on CityTV… interesting interview. Worth a watch.
The team over at Reachd.com did a presentation to the Vancouver Real Estate Technology Meetup tonight about Google, Google Adwords and how you can expose yourself further to the search engines. It was an excellent presentation. Alway great to see agents from all over the Lower Mainland come out to hang out, learn a little and enjoy some beverages.
After the presentation, agents Mike Rampf, Jeff Fitzpatrick, Jacky Levi, the guys from Lypp and myself sat and had a few drinks, some dinner and discussed Google Apps, Domain Name whois records, Ubertor software as well as a new offering from Lypp.com.
I hope to see you all out at the next meetup - details here - be sure to RSVP
