MLS.ca is soon to be Realtor.ca?
Interesting. I heard about this change a little while ago but forgot to check it out. As I understand it the Canadian Real Estate Association is changing the name of the mls.ca website to realtor.ca because it is actually not a true “multiple listing service“.
Question: Are all “real estate agents“… “Realtors“?
Looks like they are upgrading the website along with this change to include Microsoft Virtual Earth maps. It will be interesting to see the site go live on May 28th 2008.

You asked if all real estate agents are Realtors and the answer is no. To call yourself a Realtor, you must be a member of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and abide by their code of ethics. I’m not sure how many real estate agents in Canada are NOT members of CREA but I imagine the ratio is quite low.
I think the change to Realtor.ca will be positive for Realtors. If you e-mail me, I’d be happy to send you some more information on why they are upgrading.
Also, is Ubertor ready for the change? There will need to be some tweaking done so that anyone linking to mls.ca for property searches within their own website can still provide that service (although mls.ca will be forwarding automatically to realtor.ca)
