Its a big day for the team at Zillow.com today. Their stock went live on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the symbol Z today, which “climbed to $43.21 at 11:26 a.m. New York time, after earlier surging to $60. Zillow had raised the price range on the IPO to $16 to $18 a share earlier this month, after initially proposing to sell at $12 to $14.” (source)
We have had the opportunity of being around the team at Zillow for quite a few years now. They have a fantastic culture with a very unique product for the real estate world.
David Gibbons, an ex-Zillow employee (who I’m sure is very happy with the IPO today) was kind enough to let Ubertor and Reachd.com run one of its training sessions in their offices in Seattle way back in 2008, where we brought Gary Vaynerchuk in to chat with the group. But even before that, we have attended events at the Zillow offices and even met up with a couple bloggers who were driving across the US on route to Inman Connect 2007 conference in San Francisco.

CityTV Calgary has a new show coming out called Property Showdown with the web aspect of it powered on the Ubertor system.

An Ubertor Approved Vendor was chosen to do the website customization along with the Facebook page. Here is what Kye Grace had to say about the project:
I was pretty excited when Tom Lam of Urban Property asked Four Cross Marketing to be involved in this project. I loved the concept and the dynamics of the ‘showdown’. It was tough to keep it a secret until the official announcement.
Some of the challenges included the multimedia rich content that would come as the show went to air, blending the amount of static content needed and with dynamic content of video and images. It also needed to have a clear call to action for Realtors and home sellers looking to be on the show to ensure they were drawing a deep pool of Realtors and home sellers.
We are using Google Optimizer and Analytics to display different call to actions to visitors targeting Realtors and home sellers. From this data we can tell which are most effective. This is a great way to determine which wording, design or imagery creates the best results for your site if you have the resources to create multiple designs.
We also used Ubertor to host the content for the their Facebook page utilizing Facebook’s new frame functionality. This allows content on each of the custom tabs to be easily updated.

I popped into the Dexter Realty office today in Kerrisdale to meet with long time Ubertor clients… after our meeting, Ubertor’s first Realtor client (back when we called ourselves Combustion Listings) Ed Gramauskas pulled me aside and we chatted about all things internet. Eunice Gall, a Vancouver Realtor from Royal Pacific Realty has launched a new website with design assistance from an Ubertor Approved Vendor. The site is a great example of a how you can not only customize the look and feel of an Ubertor website, but also add any language. Thornbury Ontario Real Estate Agents Doug Beaumont and Michael Kearns have launched a new Ubertor website with the design help of an Ubertor Approved Vendor. This custom website features their listings as well as properties found within their MLS. I especially like how the video in the widget on the right pops open into a lightbox.
