Do you photoshop the potential into a listing photo?

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I saw an interesting Facebook status update this morning. An Ubertor client, Jim Duncan, from the Central Virginia area is at a Realtor ethics course today and updated his Twitter and Facebook profile to say:

Jim is twittering: Some realtors believe in showing the “potential” of a property in pictures - removing powerlines, trees, fences, changing color of house,.6:36am

My question is - do many Realtors photoshop their photos? what is ok? what is over the line? what do you do?

Are you getting a new cell phone for Christmas?

Friday, December 14th, 2007

If you are you should think about recycling your old rechargeable batteries and cell phones. Its quick and easy and anyone across North America can do it. All you have to do is:

1. Go through your home and office and find all those rechargeable batteries and cell phones that you have lying around that are no longer being used.

2. After you drop off your rechargeable batteries and old cell phones, the store will ship them to a recycling and refurbishing facility.

3. Log onto www.call2recycle.org or call 1-877-2-RECYCLE to find a participating retailer where you can drop your off your rechargeable batteries and old cell phones.

4. The rechargeable batteries that power the cell phones are sent to a state-of-the-art facility where they are recycled to reclaim reusable materials that are used in stainless steel production (nickel and iron) and to make new batteries (cadmium).

5. The cell phones are either refurbished for reuse or recycled in an environmentally-sound manner.

TechCrunch40 Wrap Up

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Michael Stephenson and I attended Michael Arrington’s inaugural TechCrunch40 in San Francisco this week. The event was awesome. The idea behind the TechCrunch40 is that 40 new tech start-ups have 8 minutes each to present their business to a panel of experts. The experts then give feedback to the entrepreneurs live in front of 1000 tech professionals. Some of the experts there were Mark Zuckerberg the founder of Facebook, MC Hammer, Guy Kawasaki, Chris Anderson the editor of Wired Magazine, Om Malik, plus many more.

There was a real estate start-up there that looks to be a Zillow type business that is a game that allows users to guess the price of a home. Not sure how it is going to workout in the long run but it is interesting to play with. You can check out their website here.
